Hi Force Families,

As you know DPS has extended 100% remote instruction from the start of school on Aug. 24 through Oct. 16, which is the end of the first quarter of the school year for many schools. We’ll be working hard to safely and gradually welcome all students back into schools, when health conditions allow.  DPS is considering bringing ECE students and other high-priority students back first, possibly in September.

As a Force staff, we are sad and disappointed that we will not be seeing most kids in person in August.  This is not our choice, and we understand we must act so that all students and staff remain safe and healthy.

I know there are many questions about remote learning.  We are focusing on planning high quality instruction for every student.  We are finalizing grade level specific schedules; I will share that as soon as they are confirmed.  Every grade level will have daily live instruction and will have whole group and small group instruction in both English and Spanish.  Specials (Music, and Physical Education) will be offered.

We have also received feedback that registration has been challenging.  To accommodate and support parents with the registration process, we will be doing registrations at the school Wednesday, August 12 through Friday, August 14th from 9am – 5pm.  We ask that you stay in your car, we will take a registration packet for you to complete at your car.  We will collect them once completed.  If you are planning to register online, Here is the form that you need to fill out to determine virtual or in person learning when we return to in person learning.   It is extremely important that every student register for the school year through Parent Portal or in person, as this is how we receive funding as a school and will be able to keep all of our staff.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Teachers do not return to work until August 10th and it is very important that we collaborate on planning instruction and the details of remote learning.  Please continue to reach out as questions arise.
