Hello Force Elementary Community, my name is Steve Smith and I will be teaching in Force's Affective Needs Center. My parents were born and raised in Birmingham England, and I am the first one in my family to be born in the States and attend college. My passion is to deliver equity rather than just talk and hear about the concept, and I look forward to heading up the Force Robotics team, and coaching and playing soccer with Force students a couple of times a week after-school.
In addition to teaching, I proudly serve on DPS's District Accountability Committee (DAC) and Affective Needs Advisory Committee, and strive to align DPS's work with other local, state and non-profit programming to ensure the wrap-around services many kids need and deserve. This will be my 10th year working in DPS, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work at Force Elementary.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dogs, snowboarding, swimming and nightly readings with my kids.
